I was totally flabbergasted at today's news that Monash City Council was receiving resistance to a simple biometric application for time-and-attendance monitoring.  Wake up people, this stuff has been around for well over ten years.

iPad 2 to add a smidgeon of smudge proof screen?

With the iPad copying the iPhone through the use of an oleophobic screen that still is sadly not impervious to fingerprints, is Apple on the verge of delivering a much more smudge proof solution which some say is similar to that from Amazon's Kindle?

Smart technology for problem gamblers: PM

The Government will investigate the use of a variety of "pre-commitment" technologies, including the possible use of a biometric fingerprint, to help track and curb the losses of problem gamblers, Prime Minister Julia Gillard said.
