The forecast number of 5G subscriptions worldwide by 2025 has been raised from 2.6 billion to 2.8 billion, with telecommunications equipment maker Ericsson attributing the additional growth to an increasing number of 5G subscriptions as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic.
British telco O2 has decided to expand its use of equipment from Swedish firm Ericsson to upgrade its 5G network.
The latest US moves against Huawei will not result in putting the company out of business, but will end up in a decrease in sales to to American businesses that will hurt them, most notably chipset and component firms like Qualcomm, Broadcom and Intel, a wireless technology expert claims.
