Common colds and sleeplessness are bed buddies

Pennsylvania and Virginia researchers report that the more sleep (and better quality of sleep) a person gets each night the better their immune system is able to fight off the common cold. Even healthy people with a strong immune system need a good night's sleep to help resist those colds.

Risk of death from U.S. natural disasters reported

U.S. geographers researched patterns of mortality (death) within the United States. High profile disasters such as Hurricane Katrina aren’t the deadliest. Overall, risk is highest for extreme cold and hot temperatures.
