A decision by auDA, the body responsible for the .au namespace, to change domains from .com.au to .au has riled members of the organisation to such an extent that they are now calling for the chief executive and three board members to resign.
The world’s second largest domain name registry, Afilias, has been appointed to provide registry services for the .au domain as part of auDA’s Registry Transformation Project.
Domain administrator, auDA, has appointed as its new chief executive a former Victorian parliamentarian and current Victorian Government senior public servant who led the policy development for the implementation of the .melbourne domain and was the architect of the government’s cybersecurity initiatives.
