The US$170 million Australia Singapore Cable has now been connected to the terrestrial network of Australia's fourth largest telecommunications company, Vocus Communications.
Telecommunications provider Vocus Group has seen a 16% drop in profit for the financial year 2018, with the company recording $127.1 million compared to $152.3 million for the previous financial year.
The cable-laying phase of the Australia Singapore Cable system is over, with the final splice having been completed south-east of Singapore.
