Electronic Frontiers Australia (EFA) says the Attorney-General should reject most of the requests for warrantless access to telecommunications metadata from various agencies.

Australian metadata laws come into effect today (13 October 2015) although Attorney General George Brandis says it will not be enforced until April 2017! The AG's comment is fortuitous because most ISPs do not have systems in place to meet their obligations under the Data Retention Act.
