Telstra has clearly been pencilling in a new CEO for some time, but today it has made the announcement official - Andrew Penn will start on May 1.
After nearly six years as CEO, during which time he has overseen a remarkable turnaround in the company’s fortunes, David Thodey is stepping down as CEO of Telstra.
Telstra has named former AXA Asia Pacific CEO, Andrew Penn, as chief financial officer and group managing director, finance to replace long serving CFO John Stanhope whose plans to retire were announced earlier. Penn will take up the role on 1 March 2012.
