US telco Verizon has debuted its fifth 5G-enabled device with the nationwide launch of the Inseego 5G MiFi M1000.
An extra 400 million enhanced mobile broadband subscriptions globally by the end of 2024 has been forecast by Ericsson in the wake of “rapid early momentum and enthusiasm” for 5G.
In an interview in Frankfurt, Qualcomm chief executive Steve Mollenkopf said real 5G devices could be expected on retail shelves in 2019, at least a year ahead of schedule.
