The patent, filed back in 2011, uses the Xbox Kinect sensor’s ability to track every move you make in your living room, including how many commercials you watch and for how long.
US tech news site Polygon is reporting that using Microsoft's technology, Xbox One users could be rewarded with special “achievements” for watching a certain number of ads, while giving retailers and advertisers unprecedented knowledge abouts their potential customers.
Polygon said that getting a certain number of achievements might unlock awards that could include digital gifts, avatar enhancements or reward points.
It goes on to say the technology could be used "to increase interactive viewing and encourage a user to watch one or more particular items of video content. Producers, distributors, and advertisers of the video content may set viewing goals and award a viewer who has reached the goals."

We earlier reported how Kinect will be always on and always watching.
