Stan becomes friends with Warner Bros.

By

Video on demand supplier Stan and content provider Warner Bros. International Television Distribution have announced an exclusive multi-year licensing deal.

New shows premiering exclusively on Stan in August include iZombie, Constantine, and Season 3 of psychological thriller The Following, starring Kevin Bacon. iZombie Season 2 will be ‘fast-tracked’ to Stan in at the same time as the US broadcast. The deal also includes exclusive streaming rights to all 236 episodes of one of the world’s most popular comedy series, Friends.

Announcing the deal Nick Forward, Stan’s content and product director, said: “Our partnership with Warner Bros. is the most significant since launch. By adding hundreds of hours of new content to Stan’s line-up, the deal further cements our position as the SVOD service with the highest quality and largest library of content in Australia.”

Also exclusively premiering on Stan later in the year will be comedy series Selfie, and relationship comedy A to Z.  TV series The Flash, The Last Ship, Hart of Dixie and Forever will also be coming to Stan. The deal also includes a selection of box office hits as well as a catalogue of recent TV series, including all seven seasons of The West Wing, every episode of The OC, Sex and The City spin-off The Carrie Diaries, JJ Abram’s Fringe and Rebel Wilson’s Super Fun Night.
