Telco Singtel Optus says its sports offerings will be available through the LG Smart TV app store from now on, with customers needing an existing Optus Sport account and premium subscription to watch.

In a statement, the company said new customers would be able to see all content — premium football, including live EPL coverage, the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League match, as well as the Barclays FA Women's Super League, FIFA Club World Cup, and Asia's J-League and K-League — by subscribing via the Optus Sport mobile apps, or as an inclusion with an eligible Optus plan.

Optus' head of TV and Content Corin Dimopoulos said: "Optus Sport is thrilled to be adding another platform so fans can catch all the football action they want with their LG Smart TV..

"As live sport returns to Optus Sport, we know football fans are passionate to reconnect with the game they love."

LG Electronics Australia marketing manager for Home Entertainment, Tony Brown, said: "At LG Australia, we're passionate about creating shared experiences in the home through our suite of home entertainment products.

"That's why we're thrilled to offer LG customers access to their favourite sport directly from their LG Smart TVs. When it comes to sport, our 2020 TVs are built with features that make viewers feel as if they are in the stands," .

The company said Optus Sport had well-respected talent for all coverage, including hosts Mel McLaughlin, Richard Bayliss and Niav Owens and some of Australia's better pundits, including Amy Chapman, Heather Garriock, Mark Schwarzer, John Aloisi and Alicia Ferguson.

It said EPL coverage included comprehensive live programming and all games would be available on-demand, including the popular mini matches and highlights, so viewers never missed even a moment of the action.

Optus Sport can be watched on big screens using Fetch, Apple TV, Android TV-compatible Smart TVs, LG Smart TVs, Apple Airplay, Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, Xbox or desktop, or on-the-go via tablet, mobile, or laptop.
