By

Nintendo Australia has announced an event for the more artistic residents of Sydney. The company is inviting aspiring artists to a free outdoor art class to be hosted by artist Mika Uzton Popov, the grandson of The Sydney Opera House's designer, Jørn Utzon.

He'll be using the Nintendo DS game Art Academy to show DS users how to be show off their art skills and create their own works of art, based on the Sydney Opera House.

In order to participate you'll need to register for the event at Nintendo's website, and 100 people will be run through a tutorial in painting and drawing techniques.

The day will begin with an intensive art class inside the Park Hyatt, where Popov will divulge his tips and tricks, on the finer points of the game. Once the students have learnt the ropes, they'll be let loose at Campbell's Cove where they will paint their own impressions of The Sydney Opera House using their DS.

Everyone who registers and participates will receive a copy of the game, and if you don't yet have a Nintendo DS but would like to attend, there will be DS units on hand to borrow.
