Mod causes Just Cause 2 to get multiplayer

By

Just Cause 2 was both a critical and commercial hit on its release back in 2010, but it was arguably lacking one pretty big feature - multiplayer.

Thankfully thanks to a plucky ragtag team of fans, a multiplayer mod has been released and has even now been endorsed by the game's developers Avalanche Studios.

The mod, which allows users to muck about in a single server, has slowly gained users and today Avalanche Studios announced its plans to officially release it on Valve's platform Steam.

A post made on the mod’s forum doesn’t specify when it will be released but says it will be “soon”.

“On release, you’ll be able to download the client and server from Steam, just like a normal game,” the post says. “This means complete Steam integration, including joining on your friends and more.”

The final beta test for the mod will take place on 7 December, and any interested gamers can register for a key here.

Just Cause 2 is currently enjoying 50% off courtesy of the Steam Spring Sale, for $7.50. Check it out here.
