Kevin Dillon’s Hollywood sizzle sells Virgin Mobile’s Presto sausage

Virgin Mobile tried ‘Demanding More’ from Hollywood star Kevin Dillon, but his job is done: select postpaid customers will get monthly 2GB data bonuses with Presto subscriptions!

Presto urged Australians to ‘Demand More’ when it launched TV commercials with the ‘very demanding’ Naomi Watts, but as we saw, Hollywood stars are no pushovers.

Virgin Mobile found this out for itself when ‘auditioning’ Kevin Dillon to front its new commercial complete with that all-important ‘Hollywood Magic,’ as you can see in the video below (after which the story continues - along with a shorter 30 second version of the below video):

It’s all part of a new ‘integrated campaign’ Virgin Mobile has launched to announce its new partnership with Australian video on-demand service, Presto.

The dynamic mobile and content duo say that partnership ‘comes off the back of Virgin Mobile customer research which shows that while Australians are highly active with video on-demand streaming, they are often hesitant to use their mobile phone to stream content for fear of using too much data.’

As part of the partnership, Virgin Mobile is rewarding ‘select’ current (and new!) Postpaid customers with a bonus 2GB of data each consecutive month when they subscribe to and stream Presto Entertainment for up to 6 months. Customers can sign up at Virgin Mobile’s Presto page before 31 May 2016.

Presto boasts it has the best of the current ‘golden age of TV’, including hits such as The Walking Dead, Mad Men, True Blood, The Big Bang Theory and Entourage and hit local dramas including Wentworth and All Saints.

Of course, the extended video above isn’t the only bit of Hollywood Magic Kevin Dillon delivered - there’s apparently plenty more to come, but here’s a shorter, tighter 30 second version of the nearly 2 minute clip above:

The Kevin Dillon content, which launches today, includes one 90-sec and two 30-sec content pieces as well as two 15-sec product ads, and will be amplified through pre-rolls and native video through a paid digital buy as well as through cinema and social media channels.

We’re told that Durant recently joined Virgin Mobile, heading up Brand and Customer Marketing while Nicole Bardsley is on maternity leave. Durant’ previous roles include Coca Cola, Lion Nathan, Diageo and Kellogg, building great teams, brands and results.

“Fans will be thrilled to see Entourage star Kevin Dillon on their screens again in celebration of our partnership with Virgin Mobile, while all 8 seasons of Entourage are available to stream now on Presto.”

Virgin Mobile says that, ‘from Thursday 3 December select new and existing Virgin Mobile Postpaid mobile customers can sign up for a bonus 2GB of data each consecutive month when they subscribe and stream the Presto Entertainment bundle on the go, for up to 6 months.’

Virgin Mobile says ‘this offer is available from 3 December 2015 until 31 May 2016, to both new and existing Postpaid mobile customers on Plans $59+. It is also available to customers on SIM Plans $39+.'

'Customers will also receive one month free subscription to Presto Entertainment giving them access to 1000s of hours of ad free movies and TV on-demand.’
