Foxtel’s On Demand July content includes Game of Thrones Season 7

The Game of Thrones juggernaut that is a new season finally returns to television screens on 17 July, but Foxtel proudly boasts of plenty more new “On Demand” content.

Yes, there’s Netflix, Stan and other streaming options, including Apple Music, and paid downloadable content from the iTunes Store and Google Play, but Foxtel hasn’t been sitting on its laurels.

Earlier this month, Foxtel announced its rebranding, with new logo, and new Foxtel Now streaming service, which you can read about here.

Now Foxtel has emailed to remind us all of its massive library of On Demand content, comprising of “more than 16,000 titles of incredible TV and movies, including Game of Thrones seasons 1 to 7”.

Naturally, as Foxtel is the home of Game of Thrones in Australia, these Thrones tempters are talking up the televisual treat that Season 7 promises to be from 17 July, with “with each episode available to watch, On Demand, following its broadcast.”

Of course, if you haven’t yet seen Game of Thrones, or want to re-watch favourite episodes – or even the whole series from the beginning, every episode from seasons 1-6 is available to watch On Demand now. The article continues below the image I've sneakily tweaked:

There’s also a series called “Thronecast”, which is naturally also in season 7. It will air in July live and On Demand, with each episode “recapping the prior day’s episode of Game of Thrones season 7.”

But it’s not just Game of Thrones that is available, with Foxtel big hitters including “the arrival of the new British drama, Taboo, along with season 3 of HBO action-comedy/ drama Ballers; season 3 of Kingdom; plus new movies including the political thriller, Snowden, based on events surrounding CIA whistle-blower Edward Snowden; biopic disaster thriller, Deepwater Horizon; the 2016 remake of western epic, The Magnificent Seven, and more.”

If you’re a Foxtel residential customer with an Internet-connected Foxtel iQ box, you can “instantly stream any of Foxtel’s incredible On Demand programming as well as record and play back a host of movies and TV to watch when they like.”

You’ll need the right internet connected iQ or device is required for this to work, and programmes are only available if they’re in your pack, but that’s all standard stuff.

Foxtel is also reminding us of its updated streaming service, Foxtel Now, which “also provides access to Foxtel’s world-leading entertainment live and On Demand starting from only $10 per month,” and which you can access on “selected smartphones and tablets.”

Foxtel’s other July arrivals include “season 1 of the new Lifestyle show, Common Sense, a topical news show that features everyday people trying to make sense of the news of the week; season 1 of Court Justice: Sydney, the ground breaking documentary series that takes a first-hand look inside one of the world’s busiest local courts; season 2 of the HBO comedy Insecure, which joins season 1 already available; and Top of the Lake season 1.”

Key movies for July On Demand “also include all six movies from The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings Trilogies, which will air on a special pop-up channel (channel 400) from Friday 7 July, and will also be available to stream, On Demand.”

The new TV shows streaming on Foxtel On Demand in July include:
