FetchTV fetches Cantonese TV to Australia

IPTV provider FetchTV has added a Cantonese pack to its range of options.

A five-channel Cantonese pack has been added to FetchTV's IPTV lineup. The company hopes the offering will appeal to the quarter of a million (or so) Cantonese speakers in Australia.

The $49.95 pack (only available as an add-on to a FetchTV subscription) delivers the following channels:

'¢ TVB Jade: Hong Kong drama series and extensive news and information about mainland China and Hong Kong, plus selected Australian shows.

'¢ TVB Junior: Cantonese language learning programs, general knowledge, cartoon and drama series.

'¢ TVB Xing He: the world's first Chinese TV drama channel showing TVB's  classic drama series.

'¢ TVB Lifestyle: up-to-date and practical information on health, travel, food and fashion trends in China and abroad.

'¢ TVBN: 24 hour news and current affairs from Hong Kong and around the globe.

FetchTV CEO Scott Lorson said "The TVB Cantonese pack offers the very best of programming for Australia's large Cantonese speaking population. The TVB channels are extremely popular in Australia, but this is the first time they have been available without a satellite, making it an ideal choice for customers living in multi-dwelling units, or for those customers looking to combine the very best of Cantonese and English programming."

The package is available immediately from Internode, iiNet, Adam Internet, Westnet, Netspace and MyTelecom, and will be added to Optus's FetchTV offering later this month.
