According to the report by Juniper Research voice assistant capabilities are an increasingly common way to control digital entertainment devices, from smart speakers to TVs and games consoles; linking them into the smart home ecosystem.
“This voice assistant proliferation means that the smart home will become increasingly dependent on discrete purchases, rather than holistic smart home packages that were common in the early days of the market,” says Juniper Research.
“Ninety-four percent (94%) of devices in use will be from individual purchases, with less than 50 million households globally having a smart home subscription in 2025.”
According to Juniper Research, smart devices in the home are now a mainstay feature.

“It has been almost six years since the release of the Amazon Echo. Now, voice assistants, produced by numerous providers, are just one of various smart devices that the modern ‘smart home’ might own,” notes Juniper Research.
“Smart meters, smart entertainment systems and smart security systems have penetrated the market and continue to rise in popularity. As the number of smart home devices sold per annum continues to grow, as well as the total revenue these sales generate, it is essential to understand the market forces underpinning this success.
“Through this understanding, it is possible to get the most out of the current boom, as well as understanding what future changes and challenges will shape the market over the coming years.”
