IGEL says it can help enterprise deliver Win10, cloud, security

By

German vendor IGEL is continuing its drive to disrupt the virtual workplace market and says it can help businesses achieve their IT goals.

"Key initiatives for many enterprises in the coming year include securing the endpoint, migrating to Windows 10 and cloud onboarding," said Simon Clephan, Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Alliance. IGEL says companies can harness the power of IGEL's products to deliver a simple, smart and secure end-user computing experience to support these initiatives and more.

IGEL commenced as a provider of thin client hardware and then moved into virtual operating software. The company says it has found itself often called in to turn around scenarios where a traditional VDI experience has let a business down.

It achieves this through its secure endpoint management software, IGEL OS, and IGEL OS-powered thin clients, zero clients and all-in-one thin client products, including a tiny IGEL UD Pocket device.

IGEL claims IGEL OS is an innovative, software-defined endpoint management solution that can reduce costs, increase security and improve manageability of VMware VDI and hosted desktop deployments.

IGEL will be appearing at VMworld next week to demonstrate its new integration with Liquidware Stratusphere UX 6.0, saying this offers IT organisations greater insight into the end-user desktop computing experience, providing visibility to more effectively monitor and manage desktop performance.

It also promises an impressive demonstration on turning an old PC, a Mac, and a thin client into IGEL OS devices, automatically configured to securely access VMware testdrive, within minutes.
