StartCon. It's Australia's largest startup and growth conference, running over two days each year in late November, and with over 55 speakers of the highest calibre and plenty more, it's a must attend event!
Its CEO is Lana Vickridge-Smith, who joined StartCon this year for the event's 10th anniversary.
Lana's LinkedIn profile describes her as an "Experienced Senior Marketing Leader with a demonstrated history of working in the tech and finance industry managing large teams. Broad above & below marketing expertise including Digital Marketing, Social, Content, Print, TV, Outdoor advertising, Sponsorship, Brand Management, PR management, Research, Talent Management, CRM, analytics, P&L, Agency management and a strong customer focused approach", and her CV can be seen there, too.
Saturday will see John McAfee, the famed security pioneer, libertarian, keynote speaker and independent US 2020 Presidential Candidate as the first keynote speaker, where he will speak via live video on the topics of freedom, privacy and technology including cryptocurrency, computer security, blockchain and his new decentralised currency exchange McAfeeDex.
Freelancer CEO Matt Barrie will also interview McAfee on his political campaign and how innovation can win back privacy and freedom, and you can see my video interview with John from earlier this month here.
Two other presenters that I've already interviewed will also be speaking tomorrow, with one being Lucy Lin, talking about the fascinating topic of Ethical AI (with my interview with Lucy here), and former nearly 20 year eBay veteran and independent technology leadership advisor, Petra Hofer, who you can see in my video interview here, giving us a sneak peek into her presentation and talking about her achievements in the world of tech to date!
Those three are just the merest handful from a panoply of world-class speakers still set to present on Saturday, and it has been a great pleasure to meet with so many impressive people thus far. It will also be great to get the digital pass to watch all of the speakers I didn't have time to attend in person, as there is a wealth of content to be found.
A digital pass will be made available to all existing StartCon delegates, and a pass will be able to be purchased after the event is over for those who wanted to go to StartCon but couldn't make it, and while there's nothing like being there in person, digital streaming access is the next best thing.
So, what did Lana have to say at the end of day one at StartCon 2019?
Here's our video interview!
