Shippit doubles clients in less than 18 months

By

Retail logistics software platform Shippit has recorded 101% growth in its client base in the Asia Pacific region over the last 16 months.

Shippit's growth is due in part to the company's global deal with the Cotton On retail group.

Cotton On is one of Australia's largest retailers, with brands including Cotton On, Cotton On Body, Cotton On Kids,Factorie and Supre.

Cotton On Group general manager of ecommerce Brendan Sweeney said: "We are proud to back an Australian business as we scale our service globally. Shippit's award-winning technology is exactly what we need to ensure we optimise our delivery operations. We are really excited about what lies ahead in this partnership."

Other Shippit clients include Kathmandu, City Beach, The Athlete's Foot, Tony Bianco, Qantas Loyalty and General Pants.

Shippit now handles the logistics for approximately 3% of all online transactions in Australia.

The company has increased its staff by 78% in the last 12 months, with a new office in Sydney and a satellite office in an unspecified location in South East Asia.

A notable recent appointment is that of Dan Cran as chief revenue officer. Cran previously held executive positions at LogMeIn and ResponSight.

"We know that shipping is one of the biggest pain-points holding online retailers back, particularly when it comes to providing outstanding customer experiences," said Shippit chief executive and co-founder Rob Hango-Zada.

"The reality is that this sore point only worsens and creates greater inefficiencies for retailers as they scale. With the rise of the on-demand economy, while customers expect flexible, convenient and affordable delivery options, the market is still playing catch-up.

"Shippit has been able to solve that problem for thousands of retailers, from small 'side hustle' eCommerce stores to some of the world's largest department stores. Comparative data shows the average retailer that uses Shippit grows five times faster than retailers who don't."
