Empired cooking with gas as contract wins flow

By

Australian-listed IT services company, Empired, continues its steady growth with the latest contract win securing a $5 million deal with INPEX to supply, install, configure and manage the information and cost control system for the giant IchthysLNG project in Western Australia over the next five years.

INPEX is an oil and gas exploration and production company currently involved in more than 70 projects across 26 countries, including the $34 billion Ichthys LNG project about 200 kilometres offshore in WA.

Under the $5 million contract, Empired will supply, install, configure and manage the Coreworx project information and cost control system.

Empired managing director, Russell Baskerville, said securing the contract provided a significant opportunity for Empired to work closely with INPEX over the coming years. 'We are very proud that INPEX have selected Empired to provide the Coreworx system as one of the strategic applications in the build phase of the Ichthys project.'

'This will provide a great opportunity for Empired to demonstrate the value we can provide to INPEX and ensure we are well placed to work with INPEX on other strategic opportunities. Further it provides outstanding credentials for Empired to leverage its expertise in project information and cost control systems for large capital projects in the Energy and Natural Resources sector.

Chris Foley, INPEX CIO, said he was pleased with the outcome of the tender process and, following a thorough market assessment and procurement process the company selected Empired 'based on their demonstrated experience in the natural resources and energy sector, the Coreworx solution offering and Empired's ability to dynamically meet our project delivery requirements.'

Meantime, Empired has flagged future new contract announcements, with Baskerville saying the company looked forward to the 'privilege of delivering high quality services to INPEX,' and that the contract with INPEX closed out a 'very successful first half period for the company and we look forward to announcing further contract success in the near term.'
