SUSE Gallery tops one million applications

More than one million cloud-ready application images are available in SUSE Gallery, and the number of registered developers using SUSE Studio is approaching a quarter of a million.

According to SUSE, the number of registered developers using SUSE Studio has reached 233,500, more than twice what it was a year ago.

And the number of virtual appliances available in SUSE Gallery has exceeded one million.

"SUSE Studio is the only solution available today that makes it easy to create portable application stacks in minutes that can be deployed anywhere, including private and public cloud environments," said Sabine Soellheim, solution marketing manager for emerging technologies and cloud at SUSE. "SUSE Studio revolutionises the way software is packaged and delivered. The remarkable increase in adoption in such a short period of time demonstrates that customers are getting real value through this tool."

Examples of industry acceptance include one-click deployment from SUSE Studio and SUSE Gallery to Amazon EC2, and the availability of IBM's DB2 database within SUSE Studio.
