Silk Test automates Windows 8 testing

By

Borland has updated its Silk Test automated testing software to handle software running on Windows 8.

Borland Silk Test 13.5 automates the testing of applications running on various versions of Windows, now including Windows 8.

It also supports testing web applications with a range of browsers running on Windows, including Internet Explorer 10.

Other features of version 13.5 include support for Visual Studio 2012, improved SAP testing (Silk Test can reduce SAP upgrade costs by up to 30%, Borland officials claimed), and support for .NET 4.5, Java 7 and Flex 4.6.

"Once again the Silk Test suite is providing organisations with the multi-technology capabilities necessary to meet today's software testing challenges," said Jeff Findlay, senior solution architect for Asia Pacific and Japan at Micro Focus, Borland's parent company.

"Web-based businesses using dynamic Web 2.0 technologies need to have a tool to test against browsers, browser versions and locales.

"Silk Test takes the pain out of this challenge by using one tool to test across all supported browsers and quickly demonstrate where applications need fixing and why."
