Reflection 2011 at home in App-V

By

Attachmate claims its Reflection 2011 terminal emulation software will be the first of its kind to provide native support for Microsoft App-V.

The 2011 edition of Attachmate's well-established Reflection terminal emulation software will soon be available for native deployment within an App-V environment without repackaging.

Company officials say this will allow easier deployment by eliminating compatibility issues.

"Microsoft's App-V technology allows enterprise applications to be deployed in real time, to any Windows client and is becoming a 'must-have' for organisations," said Karri Alexion-Tiernan, director of product management at Microsoft.

"We're thrilled that Attachmate, a long-time and well-respected partner, is joining us in making Microsoft App-V the standard in application virtualisation by becoming the first vendor to offer native support for our solution," she added.

Reflection 2011 is built on .NET, provides the Windows 7 look and feel, and works with App-V and other virtualisation systems.

"Attachmate remains committed to offering our customers the most advanced terminal emulation technology that can be seamlessly deployed with the latest virtualisation technologies," said Kris Lall, product marketing manager for Attachmate.

"Reflection 2011 is extremely well suited to work with App-V and enables us to save our customers significant time and resources by giving them centralised control over desktop applications across the enterprise no matter what operating system they're using," added Lall.

Reflection is designed to connect to IBM, Unix and OpenVMS hosts.
