Red Hat’s ’virtual training program’ in APAC launches

By

An online training offering designed to offer Red Hat customers, partners, IT professionals easy access to real-time training well-suited for remote geographies has launched.

Open source software and solution provider, Red Hat has launched its ‘Virtual Training Program’ for the Asia Pacific region.

The company says the goal of its new initiative ‘is to make access to training on Red Hat’s open source technology simple and quick, helping to eliminate the limitations of having to travel training in a single location and train more people on Red Hat technologies, to help prepare participants to meet the requirements for Red Hat certification.’

Users may choose from a wide gamut of remote courses in Red Hat’s products and solutions for operating system management, administration, application integration and maximisation, virtualisation, hybrid cloud development, and more.

The courses are currently available in English for Australia, New Zealand, ASEAN, Hong Kong and India. Next year, virtual training courses are planned to be available in Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese for Japan, Korea and China markets.

To access the virtual training, participants need to install a training program on their computers. After completing courses, participants can visit the offices of a Red Hat authorised training partner in their country to sit for Red Hat certification exams.

Red Hat notes it also offers an ‘online compatibility testing tool, so students can test their systems to make sure their systems and Internet access meet the requirements to have a good classroom and lab experience.’

Red Hat also says it is ‘is offering a special launch discount of 25% in Australia, New Zealand, ASEAN, Hong Kong and India for all students who attend Red Hat's virtual training from December 2015 to February 2016.’

Sachin Shridhar, senior director, Pre-Sales and Services, Red Hat Asia Pacific said: “The Virtual Training Program was designed in response to customer requests to help them overcome challenges of physical training facilities and offerings, including timing and training locations.

This program offers a new channel of training delivery model to meet the schedules of our customers who see the value of Red Hat training but want flexibility to take training outside of physical classrooms, on their own schedule.

This program is designed to enable us to train a larger number of customers, partners and IT professionals across Asia Pacific in Red Hat’s technologies in an agile, quick and effective method, helping to prepare participants to meet the requirements for Red Hat certification.”

Yugesh Jerath, director, Global Learning Services, Red Hat Asia Pacific said: “The Virtual Training Program offers the same classroom-based course catalogue with the same level and quality of information but by means of remote and real-time tools, helping to bring together students from across the region in one session.”
