MNF's EVM adds HD conferencing

Conferencing service provider and MNF subsidiary Express Virtual Meetings now offers an enterprise-grade, high-definition video conferencing service.

"Our brand new, high-definition (H.323) video conferencing solution provides exceptional audio and video quality and is a big step forward in terms of availing this fantastic technology to Australian businesses of all types," said EVM general manager Andrea Goding.

The service supports a range of room systems that use the SIP and H.323 protocols.

It also allows PC and mobile users to join conferences via a browser. No additional software is required due to the use of WebRTC.

EVM takes care of the back-end complexity, so customers don't need to worry about multi-point conferencing units, gateways, or storage or playback devices. The company can also provide managed conferencing options (eg, to selectively mute and unmute participants during Q&A sessions).

"Our video conferencing infrastructure is housed in secure data centres in Australia, and is independent of the pubic internet which means our customers are less likely to experience sound or visual lag or drop outs that users of traditional online meeting applications experience from time-to-time," Gooding said.

"Most importantly, our state-of-the-art security encryption technology — which aligns with standard security protocols — protects the transmission of voice and video data impeding potential threats to customer security and privacy."
