Dopod debuts 850MHz 3G Windows Mobile PDA

By

Hutchison expects to have the products on the market in the first week of October. No pricing details have so far been announced.

The device supports push email when used with a Microsoft Exchange  Server 2003 updated to SP2, making it a potential competitor to BlackBerry, but with the added functionality of Windows Mobile.

The 595 is a traditional candy bar design running Windows Mobile Smartphone edition. It does not have 850MHz or WiFi support but does have bluetooth 2.0 to support stereo headsets. The primary camera is 1.3 megapixel and the secondary, video, camera 0.1 megapixel.

It comes bundled with  Outlook Mobile, ClearVue document viewer for Excel, Word, PowerPoint and PDF files, Internet Explorer Mobile, Windows Media Player 10 Mobile, PocketMSN and other applications.
