Dell Software's Toad for Oracle 12.0 provides improved integration with the Toad World online community as well as new features in the database development and administration utility.

Toad for Oracle 12.0 features a forum window for convenient access to the Toad World community knowledge base, along with contextual help on Toad or Oracle topics from Toad, Toad World, or support articles.

The new release also includes the ability to quickly compare multiple schemas, for example between test and production databases.

Other new features include a private script repository for team use plus a Toad World repository for publicly sharing scripts and files.

Toad for Oracle 12.0 also provides a web-based interface for remotely executing scripts and performing actions.

In related news, Dell Software announced that the Toad World site has been redesigned.

"With the new Toad and Toad World releases, Dell connects its users to knowledge, and to other users on their team and around the world," said executive director of product management Darin Bartik.

"Individuals and teams working with data and databases can be smarter and faster. In turn, business applications and processes that depend on this work can be released quickly, perform better, and cost less to operate.

"It's a simple concept that we think will have a tremendous impact on our customers."
