Build your own Zoom background with Canva

Online graphic design tool Canva has gained a free Zoom background creator.

Use of the Zoom videoconferencing system is growing as an increasing number of people work at home.

But the most convenient workspace isn't always the most photogenic, so there's a lot of interest in the Zoom feature that replaces the background with an image of your choice.

The standard offerings quickly become hackneyed, and not everyone has a suitable image in their photo library.

So Canva has created a free Zoom virtual background maker that provides more than 80 templates and various tools and resources that help people produce something a bit different.

Canva claims to offer millions of images, illustrations and icons that can be assembled.

And if you're inclined towards the practical rather than the whimsical, the company suggests making agendas or infographics to the background for a specific meeting.
