Kingston's new HyperX 3K SSD range is aimed at those looking for performance without the big pricetag usually associated with SSDs.
Available as a standalone drive or an upgrade kit, the Kingston HyperX 3K SSD comes in 90GB, 120GB, 240GB and 480GB models at prices ranging from $148.50 (90GB standalone) to $766.15 (480GB upgrade kit).
The 2.5in drive uses the SandForce SF-2281 processor and has a SATA 2.0/3.0 interface. When used with SATA 3.0 it can achieve sustained random read speeds of up to 60,000 IOPS and write speeds up to 60,000 IOPS depending on capacity.
