A new version of Parallels Remote Application Server includes features designed to make life easier for IT management.
Parallels Remote Application Server can replace Microsoft RDS or Citrix XenApp. Version 16.5.1 allows IT managers to delegate various functions to junior administrators, including controlling user sessions, disconnecting users, killing sessions, and sending messages.
Automation possibilities are enhanced through additional PowerShell commands, new RDSH templates for auto-provisioning and auto-scaling, support for scripted notification handlers, finer granularity of client policies (including the ability to filter by the client device's operating system),.
Other changes include the addition of real-time performance metrics in the Parallels RAS console, updates to client PDP printing, VDI improvements for greater stability, and extended support for multifactor authentication.

“Parallels RAS is the complete package: a cost-effective, scalable, and versatile server system that enables us to seamlessly and securely deliver desktops and applications to any device,” said Cancer Council NSW IT operations manager Tonia Marsh.

Prices start at $99.99 per concurrent user per year, with a minimum of 15 users.
