Business cloud software provider Infor has released its AI development platform.

The Infor Coleman AI Platform – which supports the development of embedded machine-learning models – is now generally available.

The platform includes industry-specific templates to speed development, especially when used by people without extensive data modelling skills.

When used with Infor OS (Operating Service), AI projects can be put into production within six weeks, according to company officials.

Such projects can improve processes as diverse as inventory management, transportation routing, and predictive maintenance.

Infor senior director of product management for Infor OS and the Coleman AI Platform Rick Rider said "With other solutions, you have to figure out how to use AI with a multitude of other technologies. We bring an enterprise AI ensemble together in a single platform – through which we can provide a complete Intelligent CloudSuite.”

He added "The Infor Coleman AI Platform is unique in that it is designed specifically for business users and is built upon a foundation of industry-specific data. At any given moment, it can help with executing tasks and recommending next-best sales offers, or predicting maintenance issues and adjusting production schedules accordingly.”

The Coleman platform was first announced in 2017, and the Coleman Digital Assistant arrived a year later.

In related news, winners of the 2019 Infor Customer Excellence Awards included Frasers Hospitality Australia (for an implementation of Infor Hospital Management Solution and Infor Mobile Check-In, reducing check-in times by 40% and printing costs by 50%, plus an 80% increase in housekeeping operational productivity) and Auckland's Watercare Services (for an implementation of Infor CloudSuite for Water that resulted in savings in almost every part of the business).
