ActiveImage says ReZoom it! Live can 'slash time-gap between failure and recovery', selects new distributor

ActiveImage is a disk imaging back-up, system disaster recovery and virtualisation software company, and say its new ActiveImage Protector 2018 SP2 for Hyper-V Enterprise has a big time-saving new feature called ReZoom it! Live, while Bluechip is its new distributor in A/NZ.

After a disaster, malware infection or system failure, ActiveImage notes that "large multi-terabyte virtual machines can take hours to recover".

Naturally, the company is proud to report that its new "ReZoom it! Live" feature "eliminates this time-gap between failure and recovery by providing system availability while recovering a virtual machine".

How does it work?

{loadposiition alex08}Well, we're told that "ReZoom it! Live boots the virtual machine from the host's back-up when the recovery process begins, bringing the virtual machine online while simultaneously recovering the VM.

"All changes made during the ReZoom it! Live process will be available when the recovered virtual machine is subsequently booted.

"ActiveImage Protector can now create bootable media on either USB disk drives or USB flash drives. This takes advantage of the additional space provided to store backups, and the added convenience of having the backups local when using a bootable USB disk drive.

"ActiveImage Protector 2018 includes task tools for verifying back-up integrity and bootability, and for consolidating backup image files via post-backup processing. ActiveImage's BootCheck gives users confidence that their backups are bootable, whether restoring or virtualising."

New features:

  • ReZoom it! Live eliminates the time-gap between VM failure and recovery.
  • Full support for ActiveImage's new centralised management console ActiveVisor.
  • Boot Environment Builder now supports USB disk drives.
  • Post-backup processing tools now include BootCheck and back-up image file consolidation.
  • Enhanced full-state file recovery now retains file and directory access rights.

The company has also announced the appointment of Bluechip as the company's distributor for Australia and New Zealand.

Richard Giddey, ActiveImage's APAC VP said: "Bluechip's people and marketing teams have really impressed me.

"In an era when few distributors are proactive and many have a 'bank and warehouse' attitude, Bluechip's team are aggressive and positive in promoting their partners intelligently and delivering true corporative branding."

Giddey added that ActiveImage also preferred Bluechip for its reputation, its complementary products, plus a strong and active national presence.

Johnson Hsiung, managing director of Bluechip Infotech, said: "ActiveImage will enhance our expansion in Backup and DR portfolio and deliver an innovative backup and disaster recovery solutions for complete protection of all systems and data. We are excited to have ActiveImage on board to provide the latest solution offerings to our channel partners,"
