Backup expert Acronis has announced an agreement with cybersecurity experts Comodo to incorporate Acronis Backup Cloud into the Comodo ONE managed services platform.
The company says that ‘managed service providers who are interested in taking advantage of the Acronis Backup Cloud offering will be able to access the technology directly from the Comodo ONE app store, enabling them to rapidly bring new secure data protection services to market, and to help grow revenue.’
So, what is Comodo ONE?
It is an ‘integrated platform that offers Patch Management, Remote Monitoring and Management, and Service Desk, free of charge to small businesses, large enterprises, and managed service providers,’ with the platform recently adding Device Management and an application store to benefit its customers.
Ilker Simsir, Product and Platform Manager at Comodo ONE said: “When we launched Comodo ONE earlier this year, the vision was to help managed service providers replace complex multi-systems and eliminate manual tasks with standardised automated processes that are repeatable, secure, compliant, scalable and efficient.
“We selected Acronis for its ability to support any data source, destination and delivery model, as well as its proven security capabilities and support for service provider workloads. We are happy to have Acronis be part of the Comodo ONE platform and we know managed service providers will see great benefits from this relationship.”
Naturally, Comodo says it has ‘long been a leader in the development of cybersecurity solutions from enterprise through to the endpoint,’ and talks up being a ‘recognised digital certificate global leader’ that is building ‘on the strength of its proven and trusted security solutions to help protect and secure businesses across the globe.’
Meanwhile, Acronis has been busy providing companies ‘with complete data protection through an integrated set of solutions, including backup, disaster recovery and file sync & share.’
Not only does Acronis believe that complete data protection requires the most advanced data safety, it also requires data security to protect companies from outside threats, and data privacy to ensure that they stay in control of their data at all times – in transit, on mobile devices and in the cloud.

So, how does Comodo achieve this?
By leveraging ‘a highly flexible and open architecture that supports easy integration with leading 3rd party solutions, the latest global encryption standards, including AES256, and private and secure search.'
Acronis Backup Cloud has also been designed for service providers, and as such is ’a key part of the Acronis Cloud solutions’ portfolio, offering ‘proven hybrid cloud backup’ and recovery services ‘that enables service providers to provide a turn-key, best-in-class solution.’
Even better is the fact Acronis’ Cloud solution enables protection of any data from any location - and, for the Comodo ONE managed services platform integration, Acronis will host and provide storage for global services provided through the Comodo platform.
Acronis says its Backup Cloud solution 'is designed to meet the broadest range of workloads and data sources that service providers and end users manage today, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Hyper-V, VMware, RHEV, XEN, KVM, Oracle VM, Microsoft Exchange and SQL, as well as XEN, KVM, Linux, Virtuozzo, Docker, Open-Xchange, and MySQL.'
John Zanni, Acronis CMO and SVP, Channel & Cloud Strategy said, “Acronis data protection solutions are designed to ensure data safety, security and privacy, while making them simple for service providers and distributors to sell as new services to increase revenue.
“Our aim is to be the best when it comes to security for cloud data protection and partnering with security leaders such as Comodo supports this goal. We’re looking forward to being a strategic component of the Comodo ONE platform and working with an innovator in the MSP market.”
The Acronis Backup Cloud module is available now in the Comodo ONE AppStore, which can be accessed by free registration to Comodo ONE here.
