In a tweet, the Redmond-based software giant said: "We're investigating an issue for access to multiple M365 services. Please visit the admin centre post M0244568 for more information. We'll provide additional information here as it becomes available.

The company's Azure Support Twitter account said there were issues with Azure Active Directory.
Architect and developer Jon Baggaley asked: "What on earth constitutes a critical status? Nuclear meltdown, alien invasion? All your services are down in one hit!"

Microsoft had more detail on the issue at its 365 health status page. "Users may be unable to access multiple Microsoft services," the company wrote.
"User impact: Users may be unable to access multiple Microsoft 365, Azure, and Dynamics 365 services, including the Service Health Dashboard.
"More info: Any service that leverages Azure Active Directory may be affected. This includes but is not limited to Microsoft Teams, Forms, Exchange Online, Intune and Yammer.

"Current status: We are currently rolling out a mitigation worldwide. Customers should begin seeing recovery at this time, and we anticipate full remediation within 60 minutes.
"Scope of impact: This issue could affect any user."
