Bitdefender 2015 focuses on simplicity

The 2015 edition of the Bitdefender security software for Windows aims to leave the user with as little to do as possible.

One of the problems with computer security is that the more choices you leave to users, the more chance they'll make the wrong decision. After all, many exploits are designed to take advantage of the way people think.

So Bitdefender 2015 tries to keep things simple. In particular, the new 'profile' technology is said to adjust the software's settings to suit work, gaming or watching movies.

Other new features include a startup optimiser and a 'tune-up' capability, as seen in other security packages.

The company has also integrated the 'wallet' feature for securely storing sensitive data with the Safepay secure browser to automatically fill in payment details.

"Simplicity is the backbone of Bitdefender 2015. I am confident that every user, regardless of computer skills, will comprehend in just a few minutes what the new Bitdefender 2015 products line is all about and they will learn even quicker how to use it," said Bitdefender chief security strategist Catalin Cosoi.

"Today's growing internet cyber-crime environment and the increasing use of technology heightened demands on security, meaning that we had to build an extremely user-friendly concept behind our key technologies."

The Bitdefender 2015 range comprises AntiVirus Plus ($69.95), Internet Security ($99.95) and Total Security ($129.95). All of these prices allow use on up to three computers for one year.

Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition is still available.
