The company said in a statement that Mclean would lead training and development of educational assets around Instaclustr-deliver open source data-layer technologies, including Apache Cassandra, Apache Kafka, Apache Spark and Kibana, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
Mclean has about three decades of experience as a developer, software entrepreneur, tech trainer and adviser to open source projects.

Mclean will continue to serve on the ASF board, having been re-elected recently.
