Zing 5.2 will have full support for production servers running Ubuntu 10.04, the last long term support version of the distribution. The most recent LTS version was 12.04 which was released a few days ago.
Ubuntu will be supported by Zing on x86-64 processors. Zing 5.2 comes with an updated Zing Resource Controller, providing better management of multi-node production deployments of the JVM.
"We have seen strong demand from enterprises who want to run Zing, the industry's best JVM for Linux, on the expanding number of Ubuntu deployments," the release quoted Scott Sellers, Azul president and chief executive, as saying.
"Ubuntu is now a great choice for developers and operators who need Zing's market-leading predictable, low-latency performance and monitoring for their Java applications."
