Celigo is one of those rare products in the IT industry. You only know it's there when something has gone wrong. It doesn't have any hardware that will reside in your computer room, neither is there a logo on any of the screens your users might see. Instead it provides highly structured connections between all those SaaS systems that OUGHT to work together.
Earlier today, iTWire spoke to Jan Arendtsz, Celigo's chief executive, to gain his thoughts on the product and the current market position.
Celigo, an iPaaS platform with more than 2000 NetSuite customers, is announcing the launch of its verticalised bundles of prebuilt SmartConnectors including prebuilt integrations for Salesforce, Shopify and Square.
Arendtsz noted that "we identify certain trends and business processes, and then we have pre-built solutions".
"So," we asked, "if you have 'this' package and 'that' package, Celigo will provide the means to join them." "Exactly," responded Arendtsz. "So lets say you buy an expense management system, or you buy Shopify to sell on the web; then you come to us to buy the integration and also the SaaS.
"We also provide a platform that does everything else. You can go figure out any other custom integration use-case and you can go build it out."
Arendtsz noted that there were about 10 competitors in the marketplace and was convinced that Celigo was the leader in the field.
Pricing is built in two broad structures. Customers can either buy a pre-built package that targets many of the likely interfaces, or they can purchase "hoses" as needed to make specific connections, along with the ability to build custom connectors for less common scenarios.
