Oracle boosts GoldenGate features

Oracle has released a new version of its GoldenGate data integration product. GoldenGate 12c supports a wider range of databases and big data systems.

Oracle GoldenGate is designed to enable data integration and replication across disparate sources.

The latest release, GoldenGate 12c, features new support for the latest versions of IBM Informix, plus Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and 2014, MySQL Community Edition, Oracle NoSQL, Apache Hadoop, Apache HDFS, Apache HBase, Apache Storm, Apache Flume, Apache Kafka, and others.

Also new are a migration utility for Oracle Streams users, SOCKS5 compliance, and improved management and monitoring.

"With Oracle GoldenGate 12c, we have seen a performance increase of over 50% compared to Oracle Streams 11g Release 2 using our production workload on the same hardware," said CERN openlab researcher Lorena Lobato.

"We were able to complete our migration from Oracle Streams deployments to Oracle GoldenGate without any issues using the migration tool provided by Oracle," added Lobato.

GoldenGate 12c allows Oracle Active Data Guard users to capture data from the standby systems, and GoldenGate Veridata 12c provides data repair and revalidation for out-of-sync data.

"Real-time data integration is a critical enabling technology for organisations that want to get more and faster value from their data and connect systems deployed in diverse and hybrid cloud environments," said Oracle vice president of product management.

"By continuously broadening Oracle GoldenGate's support for non-Oracle databases, deepening integration with Oracle technologies, and streamlining cloud integration capabilities, we're helping customers to easily and cost-effectively achieve pervasive, continuous access to timely data."
