Ensono closes Wipro-hosted data centre services acquisition

By

Hybrid IT services provider Ensono has closed its acquisition of Indian-based software and technology services provider Wipro’s hosted data centre services business in the US, Europe and Singapore.

The acquisition, for US$405 million, is planned to be completed later in the year, and is Ensono’s third acquisition in less than three years.

Ensono says that by adding Wipro’s hosted data centre business, it has nearly doubled in size, expanded its client portfolio, and increased annual revenue to more than US$550 million.

With the acquisition Ensono — a US-based global company — says it will expand its presence in the US and UK, establish an operational presence in India, and extend into Germany to provide clients with “always on, scalable service”.

"We're proud to enter into a partnership with a company who has years of IT experience that's able to fully meet the needs of international hosted data centre clients," said Raj Bagga, vice-president of global infrastructure services at Wipro. "Our combined company will bring solutions to clients across industries more quickly and at a larger scale than ever before."

“This acquisition is a strategic move to expand our global presence to offer clients more options and access to a larger group of talented associates that will help drive faster transformation and innovation for our clients,“ said Jeff VonDeylen, chief executive of Ensono.

“Ensono’s growth over the last three years has been astounding, and this acquisition solidifies our position as a relentless ally to our clients and cements our position as a recognised global leader in hybrid IT.”
