GitLab is a popular choice for organisations that have a cloud-first strategy, but the desire – or even a requirement – to ensure data stays onshore can call for additional care.
This is especially relevant given suggestions that the Australian Government may mandate the use of Australian entities when storing sensitive government data, with that data remaining inside Australia.
"IntegrationQA understands the landscape of highly regulated and commercially sensitive organisations," said IntegrationQA managing director Chris Wellington.
"We've worked very closely with GitLab to provide a local cloud capability that provides resilience, scalability and security."
He added "Organisations who still want to use GitLab as a service now can."
IntegrationQA's solution ensures Australian sovereignty is maintained over an organisation's data by storing it sovereign IaaS provider AUCloud which is based in accredited Australian-owned data centres.
"GitLab is thrilled to see IntegrationQA bring this innovative offering to our region," said GitLab APJ regional director Anthony McMahon.
"The combination of GitLab's single application for the entire DevSecOps lifecycle, running on an enterprise-grade Australian based cloud, will help customers to rapidly increase operational efficiencies, deliver better software faster, and reduce security and compliance risk."
