Blue Jeans with room for 100 people

Video collaboration provider Blue Jeans Network has increased the limit on its videoconferencing service from 25 to 100 participants.

Blue Jeans Network provides video collaboration services that offer interoperability with other services such as Intercall's Reservationless-Plus, Microsoft Lync, and Cisco Jabber.

In Australia, Telstra offers a videoconferencing service based on the Blue Jeans platform.

Up to 100 people can now participate in a Blue Jeans videoconference, a big increase on the previous limit of 25.

Jason Sew Hoy, chief operating officer at Blue Jeans customer 99Designs, said "With over 100 employees across nine countries, being able to have a large number of participants in one meeting is of great benefit to us. Our business model is based on collaboration, and face-to-face connection helps us get the most out of meetings."

To better support larger meetings, Blue Jeans has made a number of minor changes, including automatically muting participants as they join a meeting.

Also new is the ability to record video, audio and web meetings and then easily share recordings with others. The cloud-based recording capability means there is no need to download the resulting large files until they are actually needed.

Blue Jeans officials noted the recording feature has broad relevance, but is particularly applicable to online trainings and lectures.
