Landesk updates management and security suite range

IT management software specialist Landesk has released Landesk Management Suite 2016, Landesk Security Suite 2016 and the new Landesk Mobile Security Suite 2016.

Management Suite 2016 is Landesk's unified endpoint management system, supporting devices, packages and workflows for PCs, Macs, Linux, Chromebooks and now iOS and Android devices from a single server and interface.

Management Suite 2016 is a prerequisite for the new Mobile Security Suite 2016.

Among other enhancements, Security Suite 2016 includes Landesk Workspaces for the Security Admin, which provides admins with deep visibility of connected devices and helps them prioritise remediation.

Used together, Management Suite 2016 and Security Suite 2016 help automate the rollout of new software and patches, including the ability to start with pilot groups before extending to the whole organisation. They also provide project management features such as Gantt charts.

Landesk Mobile Security Suite features secure mobile email, app wrapping (to secure corporate native applications and their data from data leaks and possible malware exposure ), and secure web browsing without the need for a VPN or additional credentials.

"Landesk Management Suite and Security Suite are at the heart of our business and technology strategy, said Landesk senior director of product management Duane Newman.

"The underlying technologies not only help IT manage and protect the devices in their environment, but they also provide a rich data set that our service management and IT asset management offerings leverage.

"This gives IT unparalleled visibility into what is happening in the environment, and it provides the underlying capabilities required to take action when change is needed.

"The 2016 updates extend those capabilities to natively support mobile devices, to improve access and visibility and to provide more automation capabilities than ever before."

As previously reported, Landesk has also updated its Xtraction dashboard and reporting product.
