Germany-based global enterprise software company Software AG has launched a cloud platform for its process mining tool under the name ARIS Process Mining SaaS.

A statement from the company said it would help firms comprehend and sort out process bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

Process mining is meant to help understand where a process is working as it should and also where it does not work. ARIS Process Mining is claimed to find patterns, anomalies and chances to better things.

"Every business faces an unprecedented number of challenges and it's hard to know how to start tackling them," said Dr Stefan Sigg, chief product officer, Software AG.

"Estimates for global IT spending have been revised down, and various research suggests that companies are struggling to get value from their investments. One reason is often a lack of analytical insights into core business processes.

"Process Mining is designed to identify efficiency gains and other immediate performance improvements with a direct return on investment."

ARIS Process Mining is available as a cloud service and in three versions: Process Mining Elements, Process Mining Advanced, and Process Mining Enterprise, with the first named being free to enable novices to test out the tools available.

Building dark fibre network infrastructure using WDM technology used to be considered a complex challenge that only carriers have the means to implement.

This has led many enterprises to build passive networks, which are inferior in quality and ultimately limit their future growth.

Why are passive solutions considered inferior? And what makes active solutions great?

Read more about these two solutions, and how PacketLight fits into all this.
