H&R Block selects Sage tax solution

Tax preparation firm H&R Block has deployed software from accounting, payroll and payment systems provider Sage to manage the preparation of approximately 800,000 tax returns annually.

H&R Block director of Operations Joseph Abouzaid says the decision to choose Sage Handisoft was based on the reliability and efficiency of Handisoft and Sage's willingness to customise the solution to align with its workflows allowing it to improve the customer experience, through a more streamlined approach.

According to Sage, the software allows the tax leader to roll out greater personalisation and give users the ability to review their tax history – something they haven’t previously been able to do in such detail.

“When you are dealing with the volume of work that we do, you need a system you can rely on. Sage HandiSoft is a well-established and trusted product,” Abouzaid said.

“Even more importantly, the Sage team were willing to work with us on our specific requirements to ensure the solution was tailored for our environment and supported our customers through the tax return process.”

Kerry Agiasotis, executive vice-president, Sage APAC, says Sage HandiSoft is an easy-to-use practice management solution developed in Australia specifically for Australian practices.

“Not only is the introduction of this new software improving the processes for H&R Block, it’s aligning the tax leader with retail trends and the movement towards a more digitised world. The goal is a completely paperless H&R Block by 2019.
