Xero's new Find & Re-code includes a powerful search facility to identify suspect transactions across bank accounts, expense claims, invoices or bills.
Searches can be restricted to a particular user, which could be convenient if a new staff member isn't quite up to speed on coding rules.
Items identified by these searches can be corrected individually or in bulk.
Find & Re-code provides the accountant or bookkeeper with the option of adjusting the transactions or creating journal entries, and stores a history of re-coded transactions.
The facility can also be used to match and clean up duplicate or multiple accounts and contacts.
“We asked our accountant and bookkeeper communities how we can improve their business and help them focus on meaningful business with their clients," said Xero chief product officer Angus Norton.
"Find & Re-code provides an easy solution to a previously time intensive problem. Xero provides the complete platform for small businesses and their advisors to communicate and collaborate with real time accurate information."
The addition of Find & Re-code follows a significant update to Xero last month which introduced inventory management and customised reporting, and improved the quoting and online file storage capabilities.
The starting price of Xero remains $25 a month.
