MYOB Rewards and MYOB Team go live

MYOB has released new payments and employee management features for its accounting software.

MYOB Rewards has gone live for small business users of AccountRight Live.

"This new program has a two-fold benefit for sole traders; it allows bulk payments via Mastercard or Visa - even to businesses who prefer not to accept cards - as well as access to an all new loyalty program for credit card payments," said MYOB general manager of financial services Andrew Baines.

Accumulated award points can be redeemed in various ways, including vouchers for Bunnings, Coles, JB Hi-Fi, Uber Eats and Woolworths.

The program was originally announced last August.

The arrangement with Mastercard allows MYOB to accept card payments and transfer the funds to the payee's bank account where it does not accept cards.

"This program is available regardless of who the business banks with – all they need to do is make a bulk payment using a Visa or Mastercard credit card and they can take advantage of the rewards," Baines added.

"Mastercard is committed to supporting small businesses as they adapt to new ways of operating and evolving customer expectations," said Mastercard Australasia vice president of specialist sales Asha Cugati.

"Our partnership with MYOB is the first of its kind for Mastercard in the Australia/New Zealand region. This is the first time we have partnered with an accounting software provider to enable a convenient, safe, secure and frictionless way for businesses to process payments including bills, invoices and payroll."

MYOB also announced MYOB Team, an employee management feature for its accounting software.

It includes a time-tracking app for mobile and tablet, a rostering tool, and three time capture modes (real time clock on/clock off, timesheets, and timesheets with time billing).

"MYOB Team enables clear visibility of rostering and hours worked for employees and employers as well as the business's accountant or bookkeeper. Having data uploaded directly to MYOB's payroll solution saves time and reduces payroll errors," said MYOB head of product Dale Dixon.

"Managers can quickly and easily create rosters, track time and approve timesheets. Employees can log their time via an app on a mobile phone or tablet, making it easier to record time and lodge timesheets."

MYOB Team is available now at no extra charge for MYOB AccountRight users. It will be added to MYOB Essentials before the end of the year.

Features planned for followup releases include geolocation and image capture, employee onboarding, leave management and expense reimbursement.
