Galaxy S II Jelly Bean update coming in November
Samsung Sweden has confirmed that Galaxy S II Jelly Bean update will begin rolling-out in November, meaning a rollout to Australian users is surely on the way.
This best-selling smartphone from the company was originally launched with Android 2.3 on-board and is now receiving the Android 4.1 update, which should be sent automatically over-the-air or through Samsung's Kies application.
Jelly Bean is not a huge update to Android like Ice Cream Sandwich was, but it brings performance improvements, improved settings menu, Google Now, expendable notifications and more.
Some users have already been using Jelly Bean on their Galaxy S II devices as it was leaked to the internet about a month ago.
No word yet on an Australian release, the only official word from Samsung Australia is “soon.”
Historically however Australia has not been far behind countries like Sweden when it comes to receiving Android updates.
