Virgin Mobile Australia has announced a free data offer called 'Sweet Gig'. It offers 1GB of data downloads for free every month for the lifetime of the plan.
But there is a catch. The offer is available only with a 24 month postpaid plan, and it available only with a Samsung handset. The deal is available until the end of November 2012. It is being promoted through the Doug Pitt series of commercials, in which actor Brad Pitt’s brother is shown living a celebrity lifestyle on his recent trip to Australia and enjoying his ‘Sweet Gig’ with Virgin.
The voiceover explains: “At Virgin Mobile we’ve given Doug Pitt a pretty sweet gig, so we think it’s only fair you get one too. Get a Samsung Galaxy S 11 for an extra $5 per month on the Big Plan $29 and we’ll give you a bonus gig of data.”
